Life
My Spouse
We met in the US Air Force Reserves, 1983;. Bill and I were deployed together to Saudi Arabia during the First Gulf War. Try spending 3 months living in the same tent compound, working opposite shifts, and no place private! Makes you appreciate the US of A and all the times we spent walking the halls of MEHS holding hands with our "steady," even with the teachers policing the halls. We are both retired from the military and our civilian jobs and look forward to travel to Europe. It will seem strange, after all the years we globe trotted with the AF on NATO orders to have to get a passport to leave and return back home. One of the benefits of all those years of service is a plane ticket to any spot on the planet that the AF lands planes costs less than $50.00. Of course, you are the mercy of military mission needs, however, when you are retired, you can be flexible in your travel dates.

s "daughters I never had."
My Pets
Mr. Franks and Mr. Beans crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2011 and 2013, respectively. We are sad they are gone, however we can now take time to travel without worrying about boarding, or finding dogsitters.
My Job
I am a certified paralegal, in a general civil practice law firm, having passed my national certification. I draft pleadings and other legal documents, interview witnesses and clients; the most favorite part of my job is locating witnesses and reviewing medical records in personal injury lawsuits, whether my employer represents plaintiffs or defendants.
I am semi-retired from the practice of law, after 30 years as a legal assistant/paralegal. I continue to work for the law firm where I spent the past 18 years as book keeper and part-time paralegal.
My favorite vacation remains going to NC and walking the woods, or riding The Great Smokey Railroad in Bryson City. I love cold weather, as long as the ground is not frozen. One of my favorite places is Hendersonville and Flat Rock (near Carl Sandburg's home). I prefer autumn and winter spring and summer (cold vs. the heat I guess).
I also enjoy meeting up with my eldest son and his family when they go camping.
I love making gifts for my grandchildren, for their birthdays and other occasions. The summer of 2014 I will begin working on my Montessori certification to become a catechist in a program called "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Each level of certification requires 80 hours of in-classroom and alot of paper writing. I am very much looking forward to being back in the classroom as a student.
